At Last!

I am finally completely unpacked! And I only moved, what, almost two months ago? I guess I've been a little busy. Of course, there are still a ton of decorations in a couple of boxes, which I may or may not bother putting up, since I'll most likely have to move shortly after I graduate next quarter. Yeah, don't remind me about that. But for now, at least I have all of my stuff in the places I want it, and I can feel a bit more settled. And just in time for Mom to come visit this weekend! There's nothing like an impending (in a good way!) visit to motivate one to organize and tidy. :)

Impending visits can be very helpful that way. With the assistance of three impending visits over the past six weeks I have finally unpacked the last box that will get unpacked...and I have been here eleven months.

Yeah, it's crazy how fast the desire to clean your room builds after you get a phone call from your girlfriend saying she's gonna be there in just a few minutes!

WHAT?!?! A FEW MINUTES?????? Must throw everything in the closet, once that's full, must throw everything under bed and then drape covers over the side in a nonchalant fashion!

I actually like packing and unpacking. It can be really fun finding all the treasures and such that you've collected and forgotten about! Although, moving the piano is a complete pain...

Wow...I'm an "impending" visit. Somehow I feel flattered. I can't help but wonder, though, what a "pending visit" would be.

Borden's right about labels (I think I'd take him as our "expert chef" among acquaintances). I'f you've got labels, I can bring calligraphy pens and we can do a total trip on those jars. Then again, there is always the thrill of gambling and seeing what you get!

Wow Trish... I think you have something there! Maybe we should write to Safeway and have them start tearing off labels from cans then having a "Mystery Section," that would be so fun! They already have a Mystery button on their pop machine... but, once it lands, you know what you're about to drink... that part makes it boring! :(

Hmm, I think Borden was referring to my previous job at a label-making company, but I could be wrong. In any case, I know which jam is in each jar by the color, so there! :)

Wow, another move! I wonder who you get that from? It definitely helps you keep from collecting too much stuff. Just moved after 15 years in the same house, save a 2-yr trip abroad. Where did all this junk come from!?

Enjoy your new place.

You are both right, of course -- and I couldn't possibly say anything else, could I?

Pleasent surprises can be fun and labels -- even pretty labels with sunflowers drawn on them -- labels do get in the way of the lovely colours...but some people I know really do have to be careful about what they eat, even in jam.
