An Invitation To Be

This is an invitation to be.
Not to be calm,
not to be silent,
not to be contemplative or introspective or reflective,
but just to Be.
What does it feel like to Be?
What does it feel like to breathe this air,
to feel your body on this planet,
your heart beating in your chest,
your soul, hidden deep inside or just at the tips of your fingers
as you reach out to touch another in need or in love?
What does it feel like to be exactly who you are right here, right now,
to hold the hopes, the fears, the dreams that you hold?
This is an invitation
to discover what it feels like to Be.

Lacey, have you read poetry by Oriah Mountain Dreamer? Specifically, her poem called "The Invitation" and the ones that come after it? If not, let me know, and I'll send you them, because I think you'd appreciate them. :)

It feels like freedom. The kind of freedom that comes from knowing the perfection that we are. It feels like joy. The kind of joy that comes from expressing ourselves as that perfection. It feels like bliss. The kind of bliss that comes from seeing and feeling that perfection being reflected back to us from the world. It feels like love. Which is what we are.
